Gunmen Abduct Water Board MD’s Daughters in Jos

Date:

Unknown gunmen have abducted two daughters and a relative of the Managing Director of the Plateau State Water Board, Apollos Samchi, during an early-morning attack on his residence in Jos.

The incident occurred around 12:53 a.m. on Monday, January 26, at Samchi’s home in the Rantya area of Jos South Local Government Area, Plateau State.

During the attack, the assailants shot the family’s security guard, identified as Benard Makjwan, in the stomach. He was rushed to Bingham University Teaching Hospital in Jos, where he is currently receiving treatment.

A source familiar with the incident said the gunmen forced their way into the house and abducted three females initially believed to be Samchi’s children.

However, another source within the Plateau State Water Board clarified that only two of the victims are Samchi’s biological daughters, while the third is a relative.

“The truth is that two are his daughters, and the other, Nanlop Dalak Tanko, is his relative who works with the Jos Water Service Corporation,” the source said.

As of the time of filing this report, the Plateau State Police Command had not issued an official statement on the incident.
