Hunter Biden has challenged Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, the eldest sons of Donald Trump, to a potential cage fight, escalating a long-running political rivalry between the two families into what could become a public spectacle.
In a video posted Thursday by Channel 5, Hunter Biden said he would be “100 per cent in” if arrangements for the bout could be finalised.
“I think he’s trying to organise a cage match, me versus Eric and Don Jr. I told him I’d do it — 100 per cent in, if he can pull it off,” he said during remarks tied to the outlet’s upcoming U.S. tour.
Details of the proposed fight remain unclear, including whether the Trump brothers would compete jointly or separately, and where the contest might take place. Neither Donald Trump Jr. nor Eric Trump has publicly responded to the challenge.
The exchange reflects the broader political rivalry between Joe Biden and Donald Trump, which intensified after Biden defeated Trump in the 2020 presidential election and has since been marked by repeated personal attacks and sharp rhetoric.
Trump has frequently criticised Biden with disparaging nicknames and allegations about the 2020 election, while Biden has warned that Trump poses risks to democratic norms and previously said he would have wanted to physically confront him over past remarks about women if they had been classmates.
Observers note that personal confrontations have long featured in U.S. political history, citing the fatal 1804 duel between Aaron Burr and Alexander Hamilton, as well as the widely publicised but unrealised 2023 cage-fight proposal between Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg.
The latest challenge also comes amid growing public interest in mixed martial arts, with the Ultimate Fighting Championship continuing to expand its cultural influence in the United States.
Channel 5 founder Andrew Callaghan suggested the idea may have been partly humorous but said he would be willing to help organise the match if all parties agreed to step into the octagon.
