INEC speaks on PVC safety as gunmen burn Anambra office

Attack by unknown gunmen on the facility of the Independent National Electoral Commission office in Idemili South, Anambra State on Tuesday brought a huge damage on the facility.

According  to the Residential Electoral Commissioner for Anambra State, Dr. Queen Agwu, the facility was attacked at the earlier hours of Tuesday leaving it “sustantantially damages. All furniture and other items were destroyed, including non-sensitive materials recently delivered in readiness for 2023 General elections.

INEC however clarified that uncollected permanent voter cards (PVCs) were kept in the fireproof cabinet, and were not affected by the inferno.
