JUST IN….Brewing political tension: IEDPU urges ceasefire

Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), the umbrella sociocultural organisation of the good people of Ilorin Emirate, has called for the immediate cessation of the ongoing exchange of hot tirades, particularly on radio stations, by supporters and sympathisers of various political leaders in the Emirate.

In a statement, the Union’s National President, Alhaji Abdulmumini Ayo Abdulmalik, said that, in conjunction with the traditional authorities and respected elders of the Emirate, it had commenced positive actions that would lead to the effective stoppage of the brewing political misunderstanding among prominent sons of the Emirate.

The President said that, with the interventions of the Emirate’s traditional authorities and elders, the brewing misunderstanding would be swiftly and amicably.resolved.

Alhaji Abdulmalik, who recalled, sadly, that the community had in the past witnessed many political upheavals with each of them culminating in retrogression for the ordinary people, pleaded for the cooperation of all concerned.

He, therefore, appealed to stakeholders to desist from all acts and utterances that are capable of escalating misunderstanding in the overall interest of the community.
