Just In…Nigeria Defeats Ghana 2-1 To Retain WAFU B U20 Championship Title

Date:

Nigeria’s Flying Eagles retained their WAFU B U20 Championship title with a 2-1 victory over Ghana on Wednesday night at the Stade de Kegue.

Arierhi Kparobo’s brace gave Nigeria the lead, and despite a late push from Ghana’s Black Satellites, they couldn’t find an equalizer.

With both teams already qualified for next year’s Africa U20 Cup of Nations, the match was a contest for pride.

Nigeria’s title run followed an unbeaten streak after an early tournament loss to Burkina Faso.
