The Kebbi State Deputy Governor, Retired Col. Sama’ila Yombe-Dabai, has reiterated the state government’s commitment to give girl-child’s education the necessary attention it deserved.
The deputy governor stated this at the second Speech and Prize Giving Day of Command Science Secondary School, Girls, Guru, Birnin Kebbi.
Yombe-Dabai stressed the need to educate the girl-child to prepare them towards shouldering family responsibilities in their future life.
He explained that the present administration under Gov. Atiku Bagudu would not relent in its efforts directed at transforming the education sector.
The deputy governor used the medium to call on people to support government policies and programmes to enable them maximally benefit from the dividends of democracy.
He lauded the efforts of the school management directed towards academic excellence and urged them to sustain the tempo.
Launching a book at the occasion, the deputy governor announced a donation of N1.5 million on behalf of the state government.
In her speech, the Commandant of the school, Maj-Gen. Ante Alame, appreciated all the members of staff of the school for their courage, support and cooperation which culminated into the successes recorded in her administration.
While congratulating the graduating students, the commandant urged them to be good ambassadors of the school in anywhere they found themselves.
