Kebbi Varsity Appoints Business Mogul, Rabiu Abdulsamad As Chancellor

The Governing Council of Kebbi State University of Science and Technology, Aliero (KSUSTA) has named Abdulsamad Isiaku Rabiu, Chairman BUA Group of Companies as substantive chancellor of the university.

A release by the university’s public relations officer, Mustapha Mansur Ango, said the appointment was made by the Visitor to the University, Governor Nasir Idris.

It said the council also approved the appointment of Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, Governor of Borno State as the guest speaker for the university’s maiden convocation ceremony and also approved the appointment of Dr Mohammed M. Kpakiko as the substantive University Librarian with immediate effect.

It added that the decisions were taken during the 41st governing council meeting held on December 24, 2024, to reflect the council’s commitment to fostering excellence in the university’s academic and administrative functions.

The release also said the Vice-Chancellor, Engineer Professor Bagudu Danshehu Gwadangaji, appreciated Governor Idris for the support to the institution, his successful hosting of the 39th edition of the national Qur’anic recitation competition in the state and book launch titled ‘Mr Project’ to showcase his positive contributions towards the development of the state.

It also said the governing council approved the appointment of Dr Attah Dan Inna Daniel to the rank of Professor and Dr James Tolulope Olayemi as Reader of the university.
