The National Leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, has urged party members to close ranks and remain united as they prepare for the 2027 general elections.
Kwankwaso made the call during an interactive session with party stakeholders in Cross River State on Tuesday. He commended members for their efforts in the 2023 elections and expressed optimism about the party’s prospects.
“Ensure unity within the party, especially now that we have a new big office in Calabar and many local government areas across Cross River State,” he said. “By the grace of God, our party, the NNPP, will win elections in Cross River and across Nigeria.”
The meeting focused on strengthening the NNPP’s structures in the state ahead of the next polls.
Meanwhile, speculation continues about Kwankwaso’s possible defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC), His ally, Abdulmumin Jibrin, a House of Representatives member from Kano, recently suggested that the option of joining the APC ahead of 2027 remains open.
