Kwara Announces Monthly Sanitation Exercise For January 31

Date:

The Kwara State Government has announced that its monthly environmental sanitation exercise for January will take place on Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

The announcement was contained in a statement issued by the Commissioner for Environment, Hajia Nafisat Musa Buge.

According to the statement, residents are encouraged to sustain efforts toward keeping their surroundings clean and to improve on environmental sanitation standards recorded in previous years.

The government urged residents across the state and all local government areas to participate fully by cleaning their homes, business premises, and surrounding environments.

It warned that there will be a restriction on both vehicular and human movement during the exercise.

The statement added that security agencies have been deployed to enforce compliance, with mobile courts set up at strategic locations to prosecute defaulters.

The government also cautioned that any attempt to obstruct officials carrying out their statutory duties during the exercise would be treated as a violation of the law and sanctioned accordingly.
