Kwara Chief Judge Lays Blocks For New Court, Oath Office In Ajase-Ipo

The Chief Judge of Kwara State, Hon. Justice Abiodun Ayodele Adebara, has laid blocks for the construction of a new High Court building and Oath office in Ajase-Ipo, Irepodun Local Government, Kwara State.

The project which is undertaken by the Olupo of Ajase-Ipo and Chairman, Irepodun LGA Traditional Council and Chairman, Igbomina/Ekiti Traditional Rulers Forum, HRM Oba (Barr.) Ismail Yahaya Atoloye Alebiosu, was built on a four plot of land, in a remarkable display of his unalloyed commitment to the growth and development of his community.

While taking the Chief Judge and other judges on a tour of the construction site which is currently at the DPC (Damp Proof Course) level, Olupo, who is a lawyer by profession said he was driven to give back to his constituency and the legal profession by building another judicial division in Irepodun, in addition to the Omu-Aran division.

The monarch stated that the new court building is designed to create a conducive environment for the administration of justice and to speed up the dispensation of justice in Kwara State. He thanked the Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Adebara, who he referred to as his teacher at the Faculty of Law, University of Ilorin, for his support and encouragement since the idea was brought up.

He also charged residents and citizens of Ajase-Ipo to protect all the government properties in the town, including the ongoing Divisional Police Station and the High Court building.

In his goodwill message, the Chief Judge of Kwara State, Hon. Justice Abiodun Ayodele Adebara commended the Olupo for his commitment to the growth and development of the community. He noted that the project demonstrates the monarch’s dedication to building a community with access to justice.

“What we have gathered to witness this afternoon is not just about the erection of blocks of court building from where those who work in the temple of justice can perform their day to day activities. The Olupo is realizing the vision of establishing a center for justice administration within the state, which will possess enhanced functionality and appeal.

This project he has embarked on is in line with our vision of creating robust channels for the speedy dispensation of justice in Kwara and we are grateful to Kabiyesi for the gift of this historic edifice,” Justice Adebara stated.

The Chief Judge, Justice Adebara was accompanied by the High Court Judge covering Omu-Aran Division, Hon. Justice Moses Olalekan Adegbite, as well as Hon. Justice Oluwatosin Adenike Adeniyi; Hon. Justice Yusuf Adebayo Dikko; Chief Registrar of the High Court, Magistrate Kudirat Ambali Yahaya; DCR (Admin), Magistrate Bio Saliu; Head of High Court Oath Office, Mrs. Nike Lambo-Shiru; and Protocol Officer, Mr. John Jide Ogundele among others.

In his closing remarks, the Olomu of Omu-Aran, Oba Abdulraheem Oladele Adeoti, commended the Olupo for his remarkable initiative in constructing a High Court, among other various projects he is undertaking within the community. He also extolled the Chief Judge, Justice Adebara, for facilitating an efficient judicial system within the state that aligns with the demands of 21st-century judicial service delivery.

The ceremony was well-attended by Royal Fathers from Irepodun LGA; security personnel including the DPO, Unit Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Divisional Officer (DO) of the NSCDC, Esikin-Ode of Omu-Aran among others who witnessed the laying of blocks for the new High Court building.
