Kwara Commissioner Eulogizes Council Boss Over Developmental Projects

The Kwara State Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development, Hon. Abubakar Abdullahi Bata has expressed satisfaction with the quality and pace of projects executed by the Executive Chairman of Asa Local Government Area, Hon. Shehu Amosa, since his assumption of office.

Speaking during a comprehensive inspection tour of the executed projects in the Council Area, the Commissioner said he was highly impressed with the council Chairman’s choice of projects in education, health, road among others.

The inspection visit, according to the Commissioner, covered key projects initiated to improve social services and enhance the welfare of residents across the Local Government Area.

Among the projects inspected were the comprehensive restructuring of classroom blocks at Ogbondoroko LGEA School and Budo Ago primary Schools, the provision of basic hospital equipment and drugs to primary health centre at Sosoki Primary Health Centre.

Others are; the newly restructured Palace of Daudu Alapa, Comprehensive renovation of the Council Secretariat, and the ongoing grading of access roads from Afon Community to Budo – Egba, linking several Communities.

Speaking during the assessment tour, the Commissioner praised the Executive Chairman for demonstrating accountability, visionary leadership, and commitment to grassroots development.

He noted with satisfaction that the projects align with the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s continuous drive to strengthen basic infrastructure, enhance public service delivery, and promote inclusive growth across the state.

He emphasized that the construction of new and comprehensive remodelling of existing schools would expand educational opportunities for children, while the provision of hospital equipment and drugs would improve healthcare delivery for rural communities.

He further acknowledged that the ongoing renovation of the Council Secretariat is meant to create conducive working environment for Staff, thereby enhancing administrative efficiency.

He also lauded the grading of rural roads, describing it as a critical intervention that would boost economic activities, ease transportation of farm produce, and improve inter-community connectivity.

The Commissioner therefore, encouraged the Executive Chairman and his management team to sustain the tempo of development and continue prioritizing masses-oriented projects.

He further assured that the Ministry would continue to monitor projects across all Local Government Areas to ensure compliance with standards and value for public resources.

In his remarks, the Executive Chairman, Hon, Shehu Amosa, appreciated the Commissioner and his team for the visit and reaffirmed his commitment to delivering more people-centred projects in line with the State Government’s transformative agenda.
