Kwara gets new TUC Chairman, Abdulrahman Onikijipa

A new chairman has been elected for the Trade Union Congress in Kwara State. He is Alhaji Abdulrahman Olayinka Onikijipa.

ROYAL NEWS reports that Onikijipa emerged as the TUC Chairman at the Triennial Conference of the labour body held in Ilorin.

Meanwhile, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has commended the choice of Alhaji Onikijipa for the position, saying the government looks forward to a harmonious working relationship with the new TUC leader and his team.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, the Governor noted that Onikijipa’s exemplary performance and good antecedents at the RTEAN point at a brighter future for the TUC in the state.

He commended the outgoing TUC Chairman Comrade Tunde Joseph for his patriotic and pragmatic leadership throughout his tenure, especially his passion for healthy dialogue and partnership with the government.

The Governor prayed to Almighty God to guide Alhaji Onikijipa and his team on the new task of working for improved welfare of the workers and nation-building, which the leadership of the labour union entails.
