Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has expressed his condolences following the death of Sir Chief Joseph Adeniyi Aderibigbe, the pioneer Secretary to the Kwara State Government (SSG) and former Head of Service.
Aderibigbe passed away on Wednesday morning in Ilorin at the age of 104, according to his son, Barrister Debo Aderibigbe.
In a statement, Governor AbdulRazaq described Aderibigbe’s death as the end of a distinguished era characterized by patriotism, dedication to public service, and a commitment to shaping the early development of Kwara State.
The governor praised the late SSG’s enduring legacy, noting his exemplary record in public administration and his leadership over several decades.
He highlighted that Aderibigbe’s contributions helped position Kwara State as a positive reference point among Nigeria’s states.
Governor AbdulRazaq prayed for the repose of Aderibigbe’s soul and asked God to provide comfort to the bereaved family and the entire Erin-Ile community.
Aderibigbe’s passing marks the loss of a revered figure in Kwara State’s civil service history, remembered for his professionalism and service to the state.
His death has elicited condolences from public officials, community leaders, and associates who have acknowledged his lifelong dedication to governance and state development.
Family members and residents of Erin-Ile have described him as a role model whose life spanned over a century of public service and community leadership.
