Kwara health ministry reactivates work-place environmental sanitation
The Kwara State Government has again reaffirmed its commitment to effective environmental sanitation to prevent the spread of diseases and safeguard the health of citizens of the State.
The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Amina Ahmed El-Imam informed the Ministry’s press crew today at the recently reactivated weekly environmental sanitation exercise held at the Kwara State Ministry of Health headquarters at fate in Ilorin.
Dr. El- Imam stated that the re-activated Wednesday clean-up exercise was one of the core measures of involving civil servants in environmental sanitation activities at the work place aimed at preventing the spread of diseases among workers within the work environment.
The Health Commissioner who also played host to her colleague from the Ministry of Environment, Mallam Shehu Ndanusa Usman, and members of his team comprising environmental officers, appreciated their support and cooperation in ensuring the reactivation of the weekly clean up exercise.
On his part, Mallam Ndanusa commended the Health Commissioner for living up to expectations and setting examples for other ministries, departments, agencies, and parastatals to emulate.
Present at the exercise were staff of the Ministry of Health headquarters, the Kwara State Primary Health Care Development Agency, the Essential Drug Project unit of the Kwara State Hospital Management, and partners within the premises.
