The Kwara State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has congratulated Dr AbdulAzeez Arowona, publisher of RoyalNews Online, on the official unveiling of Emirate 98.5 FM in Ilorin.
In a statement jointly signed by the chapter’s Chairman, Gabriel Ogunade, and General Secretary, Abdul Rahman Sanni, the institute described the launch of the radio station as a major milestone for the state’s media and public communication sector.
The NIPR said the establishment of Emirate 98.5 FM reflects Dr Arowona’s foresight and sustained commitment to ethical and professional communication, adding that the station is well positioned to enhance public enlightenment, cultural promotion, and community development across Kwara State.
According to the institute, the new station is expected to promote responsible information dissemination, strengthen public engagement, and improve communication between government, institutions, and the public.
The statement also noted that beyond Dr Arowona’s role as Press Secretary to the Emir of Ilorin, the radio station would contribute to human capital development by creating employment opportunities for journalists, broadcasters, public relations practitioners, and other media professionals, with positive implications for socio-economic growth in the state.
The NIPR expressed confidence that Emirate 98.5 FM would uphold high standards of professionalism, ethical practice, and social responsibility in line with the principles of public relations and journalism.
The institute pledged its support for the station’s operations and wished Dr Arowona continued success in his contributions to media development and strategic public communication in Nigeria.
