The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, Mai-Martaba Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, has sympathised with the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Umar Garbai Ibn El-Kanemi, over the incidence of flood which submerged his palace in the early hours of Tuesday.
This is contained in a message issued by the Emir’s spokesman, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona.
Alhaji Sulu-Gambari, who described the situation as unfortunate and regrattable prayed Almighty Allah to cease reoccurence of such incidence.
The monarch extends his sympathy to Governor Babagana Zulum and the good people of Borno State especially residents of Maiduguri over the disaster.
He therefore advised governments at all levels to be endeavour to work along with the predictions and forecasts of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) in order to provide proactive measures that could avert such situation.
