Man City tell Ortega to leave this summer

Date:

Manchester City have reportedly told backup goalkeeper Stefan Ortega that he will be allowed to leave the club this summer, following the return of James Trafford. This was revealed by Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Ortega, who joined City in 2022, has served as Ederson’s understudy but may now be on his way out as Trafford is expected to compete for the second-choice role.

Elsewhere, Saudi Pro League club NEOM SC have reached a deal with AS Monaco for 19-year-old winger Saïmon Bouabré. The agreement includes a transfer fee of €10 million plus €2 million in potential add-ons, along with a sell-on clause. Bouabré is currently in discussions with NEOM over personal terms before a final decision is made.

In England, Everton remain in limbo as they await a decision from Belgian forward Malick Fofana, whose preference is to play in the UEFA Champions League. With the club exploring alternatives, Everton have made enquiries for Como duo Assane Diao and Takefusa Kubo.

However, Como have reportedly rejected a bid for Diao earlier this summer, leaving his availability uncertain.
