Inter Miami forward Lionel Messi made a secret visit to the newly renamed Spotify Camp Nou on Sunday night, revisiting the stadium where he spent the most celebrated years of his career.
A video shared by football journalist Fabrizio Romano on X (formerly Twitter) captured Messi’s heartfelt reflection. The eight-time Ballon d’Or winner said:
“Last night I returned to a place that I miss with my soul. A place where I was immensely happy.”
Messi, who left FC Barcelona in 2021 after more than two decades, added:
“I hope one day I can come back, and not just to say goodbye as a player, as I could never do.”
The visit comes amid growing nostalgia for the era when Messi led Barcelona to numerous domestic and European triumphs, leaving behind a legacy of records, trophies, and unforgettable moments.
The stadium, which opened this year under its new Spotify sponsorship, remains a symbol of Messi’s deep bond with the club. Fans took to social media to celebrate the gesture, describing it as a “touching return” and “a love letter to Barcelona.”
