The Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria has congratulated veteran journalist Babatunde Kolade Otitoju on his appointment as Director of News at TVC Communications Ltd., describing the move as well-deserved.

In a statement signed by its National Coordinator, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi, the group said Otitoju’s elevation reflects his strong academic background, professional credentials and decades of experience in journalism and mass communication.

“While qualifications and experience are often considered sufficient for appointments to positions of authority, the current media climate demands more,” the statement said. “Incorruptibility, honesty, fearlessness and high integrity are essential virtues for those entrusted with leadership.”

The group noted that Otitoju embodies these qualities, adding that his appointment stands out for the values he brings to the role. According to the statement, his track record in broadcast journalism and public affairs has earned him respect across the media industry.

Congratulating him on the new role, the Muslim Media Watch Group urged Otitoju to uphold the principles for which he is widely known. It expressed confidence that maintaining these standards would enable him to excel and deliver strong leadership at TVC.

Otitoju is a prominent media professional with years of experience in television journalism, political analysis and newsroom management. His appointment comes as TVC continues efforts to strengthen its editorial leadership and news output.
