Muslim Media Watch Group Mourns Prof. Lanre Badmas

The Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria (MMWG) has described the sudden demise of Professor Badmas Lanre Yusuf as shocking.

A statemen jointly signed by the National Coordinator of Group, Alhaji Abdullahi Ibrahim, and the National Secretary Dr. Nasir Balogun, described the deceased as an outstanding Islamic Scholar who traversed the International Community spreading Islamic knowledge.

The Group recalled his immense contributions to growth and development several Islamic Organizations in Nigeria including the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria, the National Council of Muslim Youths Organizations in Nigeria (NACOMYO), the Hijra Organization of Nigeria as well as the academic community of numerous Universities in Nigeria including his Alma-Mater – The University of Ilorin where he was until recently served the Dean of Post-Graduate School.

The Media Group noted with sadness that his death has created a vacuum to difficult to fill, but expressed satisfaction that Professor Lanre Badmus played his part creditably to the satisfaction of all.

The Group therefore prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive his sins and grant him Aljannatul-Firdaous.
