David Emmanuel Ombugadu, former governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Nasarawa State, has pledged to resist any future attempts to subvert the will of the people through electoral manipulation.
Speaking during a stakeholders’ meeting at the PDP state secretariat in Lafia, Ombugadu condemned what he described as widespread electoral and judicial injustices during the 2023 governorship election, where he was declared runner-up.
“The state is bleeding from electoral injustices. Our people have lost confidence in the electoral process,” he said, expressing concern over alleged interference by unidentified individuals during the last election.
He alleged that outsiders infiltrated Nasarawa State on election day with the intent to manipulate the outcome of the polls. “Enough is enough. We don’t have another state to run to,” Ombugadu declared. “Come 2027, we will ensure that the people’s victory is not tampered with. Any plot to rig will be firmly resisted. Only the authentic results will be accepted.”
He warned that the PDP would no longer tolerate any attempts to subvert the electoral process, stating that the party was prepared to defend the mandate of the people by all legal means.
“2027 will be a different game. We will not sit idly by and watch invaders rig our elections under any pretext,” he emphasized.
Ombugadu also called on PDP members and supporters across Nasarawa State to remain united and resilient in the face of what he termed “electoral robbery,” assuring them that justice would ultimately prevail.
