Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Declares Bid for Second Senate Term

Date:

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has officially declared her intention to seek re-election for a second term, citing strong support from constituents and extensive consultations across Kogi Central.

The announcement was made during a stakeholders’ meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the district, where party leaders gathered to discuss the party’s future.

In a statement released by her media team in Abuja, Akpoti-Uduaghan said her decision followed months of appeals and endorsements from the five local government areas in Kogi Central.

“After due consultations and encouragement from my husband, I have accepted your calls to re-contest for a second term as your senator,” she said.

She also emphasised the need for unity within the PDP, urging members to reconcile differences and work together ahead of upcoming elections.

“This is the time to bring everyone back home. We must reconcile with those who may have had issues, for the betterment of our party and success in the elections ahead,” she added.

Speaking at the meeting, Kogi Central PDP Zonal Chairman, Anthony Akuvada, praised the senator’s performance, describing her as a transformational leader whose impact has been felt across the district.

According to him, her tenure has been marked by achievements in infrastructure, human capital development, and inclusive governance, which have strengthened her connection with constituents.

Akpoti-Uduaghan also expressed appreciation to her husband, Emmanuel Oritsejolomi Uduaghan, for his support throughout her political journey.

Her declaration comes amid growing endorsements from party members and community leaders, positioning her as a key contender in the next senatorial election in Kogi Central.
