The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has held it second edition of its Annual Training for Aviation Correspondents in Abuja.
Speaking on the second edition of the training, the Assistant General Manager of the NCAA’s Public Relations Department, Mrs. Uju Mbamalu said the training indicates the agency’s commitment to enhancing media capacity and fostering effective communication within the aviation industry.
Mrs. Mbamalu applauded the media’s growing professionalism in reporting issues in the aviation sector, noting that there has been a positive change in the way the sector’s news reports are being handled since the first edition of the training which took place last year.
She noted that the NCAA now enjoys a stronger relationship with aviation correspondents due to a better understanding of what the agency does, hence bringing about increased trust.
The training that took place on the 9th and 10th of June 2025 marks a significant step in promoting proactive engagement between journalists and the NCAA, a departure from the past when such interactions were rare. This development is seen as a positive step forward.
Some of the participants at the training thanked the NCAA for sustaining the training, saying regular trainings of journalists create an avenue for a better understanding and an opportunity to report the aviation sector issues with diverse perspectives.
