Nigeria qualifies for medal in the Olympic games

Ese Brume of Nigeria has made it to the final of the women’s long jump event at the occurring Tokyo 2020 Olympic.

Brume who placed fourth with a 6.76m jump to claim the final spot in group B, was the only Nigerian athlete who reached the finals at the 2016 Olympic games in Rio, where she came fifth with a leap of 6.81m.

The athlete also won bronze medal at the 2019 world championship in Doha and is regarded as one of the country’s strong medal prospect in tokyo, haven broken the record of Chioma Ajunwa long jump record of 7.12m with 7.17m in may at the chule Vista festival in California.

Reigning world indoor champion and three-time European indoor champion Ivana Spanovic came first with a jump of 7.00m, current world champion Malaika Mihambo of Germany came 2nd with a 6.98m leap, British Virgin Islands’ Chantel Malone came 3rd with 6.82m.
