Okpebholo Urges Edo Youths to Enlist in Nigerian Army Recruitment Exercise

Date:

BENIN — Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has urged eligible youths in the state to take advantage of the ongoing 91 Regular Recruits Intake of the Nigerian Army by applying for enlistment.

The governor made the appeal in a statement issued on Tuesday in Benin by his Chief Press Secretary, Patrick Ebojele, following the scheduled visit of a Nigerian Army sensitisation team to the state from April 8 to April 14.

According to the statement, the sensitisation visit is aimed at engaging, guiding and supporting prospective applicants through the recruitment process.

Okpebholo encouraged qualified young men and women across the state to participate in the exercise, describing it as an opportunity for meaningful employment, national service and personal development.

“I urge Edo youths to come forward in large numbers to improve the state’s participation and meet its national quota in the army recruitment exercise. It is a chance for young Edo people to build disciplined and purposeful careers,” the governor said.

He also called on parents, guardians, traditional rulers, community leaders, religious institutions and youth organisations to mobilise and encourage eligible candidates within their communities to take part in the exercise.

The governor advised interested applicants to visit the Nigerian Army’s official recruitment portal for details on eligibility requirements and application procedures, and to ensure all necessary documents were complete before appearing at designated sensitisation centres.

He added that the Edo State Government remained committed to creating opportunities for youths and urged collective support to ensure the success of the recruitment exercise.
