Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has denied allegations that he is supporting any individual or making commitments regarding party tickets ahead of the 2027 general elections. He made the clarification during an APC stakeholders’ meeting in Akure, where party leaders gathered to discuss internal party matters.
The governor emphasized that he has neither endorsed any aspirant nor given assurances for legislative candidacies. He stated that falsehoods, assumptions, and insinuations in the political space are often spread to create divisions.
Aiyedatiwa warned against spreading unverified claims and misinformation. He noted that such narratives could harm party cohesion and weaken collective progress within the APC.
The need for clarification comes amid growing political activities in Ondo State. Although the state will not hold a governorship election in 2027, party members have intensified consultations and preparations for upcoming primaries for state and national assembly positions.
The governor urged APC members to remain focused on unity and fairness. He stressed that due process would guide all future party activities, reinforcing the importance of collective progress over personal interests.
