Paramilitary Board Issues Scam Alert Amid 2025 Recruitment

Date:

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has cautioned Nigerians to be vigilant against fraudulent recruitment messages circulating online as the 2025 paramilitary recruitment exercise enters a critical phase.

In a statement released on its official X account on Wednesday, the board clarified that it does not communicate with applicants via email or SMS. Instead, all legitimate recruitment updates are available exclusively on the official portal. Applicants are urged to visit the portal to update their profiles and print examination slips as part of the ongoing shortlisting process.

“CDCFIB will not send emails or SMS to applicants. Visit our portal, and once shortlisted, update your profile to print your examination slip. Follow the instructions carefully. Beware of scammers,” the board said.

The warning comes after the announcement of candidates shortlisted for the computer-based test (CBT) for the four paramilitary agencies: the Nigerian Correctional Service, Nigeria Immigration Service, Federal Fire Service, and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.

Retired Maj.-Gen. Abdulmalik Jubril, Secretary to the Board, instructed applicants to check the official recruitment portal at https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng starting Thursday, October 30, 2025, to verify their shortlisting status and the designated CBT centres.

“Shortlisted candidates should take careful note of the venue, date, and time scheduled for the CBT,” Jubril said. He emphasized the importance of using only the official portal to avoid falling victim to scams.

The board’s caution aims to protect applicants from cyber fraud and ensure that only eligible candidates follow the correct recruitment procedures.
