PDP Hausa-Fulani Group in Plateau Resolves Internal Rift Ahead of 2027

Date:

A Hausa-Fulani faction within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Jos North, Plateau State, has ended a long-standing internal crisis, committing to unity and cooperation in preparation for the 2027 elections.

In a communiqué released on Tuesday, signed by the PDP Hausa–Fulani Reconciliation Committee, the group announced that all internal differences had been resolved, marking a new phase of collaboration and progress.

Alhaji Bello Nakande, Chairman of the Reconciliation Committee, stated that after a series of constructive engagements, all stakeholders agreed to work harmoniously as a united party, fully supporting Governor Caleb Mutfwang.

The communiqué also praised the outgoing state PDP leadership, including former Chairman Chris Adakuchili Hassan and the State Executive Committee, for their resilience and strategic leadership in reclaiming power during the 2023 general elections. “They were a source of inspiration to party members across Plateau State,” the statement said.

While congratulating the newly elected state PDP Chairman, Raymond Dabo, the group condemned what it described as a false campaign alleging that Dabo was a convicted individual. “Dabo was duly discharged, cleared, and acquitted by a competent court of law. These allegations by the APC are attempts to distract our party from its renewed mandate,” the communiqué stated.

The group reaffirmed its support for Governor Mutfwang, commending his “people-oriented leadership and commitment to peace, unity, and development” and pledged to work actively toward his re-election in 2027.

“With renewed energy and shared purpose, we stand united to support the PDP and ensure its triumph in all forthcoming political engagements and elections for the benefit of our people and Plateau State,” the communiqué concluded.
