The new commander of the 18 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Bida Brig. Gen. Ibrahim Babatunde Gambari, has paid a royal visit to the Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar CFR, at his Wadata Palace in Bida.
Gambari who took over from Brig. Gen. Taiye Ahmed visited the monarch together with some ranking officers from the Brigade with a pledge to ensure that the peaceful coexistence in Bida and other locations under his jurisdiction are properly sustained.
He appealed to Etsu Yahaya Abubakar, a retired Army officer who is also the chairman Niger State Traditional Rulers Council, not to relent in his proper guidance and fatherly support to the Brigade and to all and sundry at large.
He assured him of his unflinching loyalty to the nation by ensuring that adequate security of lives and property is maintained at all times even as he requested the monarch to continue to pray for the entire officers and men of the Nigerian Army for them to succeed in their tasks.
In his remarks, the Etsu Nupe assured Brig. Gen. I.B Gambari and his team of his support adding that you he should feel free to discuss area of concerns to him in a bid to further achieve mutual benefit of a peaceful environment.
