Police to arrest violators of COVID-19 guidelines in Kwara markets

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has warned traders against flouting the Covid-19 lockdown guidelines.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP Abimbola Sokoya, stated this in a a letter addressed to Iyaloja and Babaloja in Kwara State, urging them to strictly adhere in compliance with directives. He noted that further violation will result in legal actions.

The statement reads: “It has been observed that traders in your market have been flouting the Kwara government directives on curtailment of the spread of Covid-19 by allowing market activities beyond 10am-4pm, and also operating without face masks as ordered by the government.

“You are hereby warned that any further violation of this order will attract legal consequences. I expect your strict compliance please.”
