Prince Ajibola fulfilled his purpose in life —MMWG

A non governmental organization, the Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria, MMWG has said that the former Judge of the International Court of Justice, Hague, Netherlands, Prince Abdul-Jabbar Bola Ajibola, SAN fulfilled the purpose of his existence in all spheres of life.

Ajibola, also a former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation died on Sunday, April 9, 2023 at the age of 89 years.

MMWG, in a statement issued by its National Coordinator, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi described the deceased as “a tremendous personality who fulfilled the purpose of his existence in all spheres of life.”

“Prince Bola Ajibola SAN was an outstanding International Jurist who was President of the World Court in the Hague and a committed Muslim who served as good ambassador of Islam everywhere.

“The deceased pioneered establishment of a Muslim university – The Crescent University, Abeokuta several years ago to promote high standard of education. The iniversity singularly financed by him, came at the time of need to feel the gap created in-order to meet the yearnings of the Nigerian society irrespective of religious and ethnic background of the benefitting students,” the group stated.

It, however, said the death of Ajibola should serve as a lesson to other wealthy Nigerians, especially the Muslims, pointing out that “those who use their hard-earned wealth to better the lots of their people would reap the benefits here in this world and hereafter.”

The group noted that the departure of erudite scholar has thrown a challenge to other well-to-do Muslims in Nigeria and therefore, called on them to emulate the deceased by contributing meaningfully to the religious, educational, social and medical well-being of the people for abundant rewards from Almighty Allah.
