Why I relocated to Abuja—- Mimiko

Date:

Ondo State Governor, Olusegun Mimiko
The Ondo State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, has said he recently relocated to Abuja on part-time basis to ensure the factional governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state, Mr. Eyitayo Jegede, get justice and contest the November 26 governorship election.
The governor stated this in Akure on Wednesday at a programme in honor of the founder of the Odua Peoples Congress, Dr. Frederick Faseun. The programme was organised by a group of youths known as Integrity Icons.
Mimiko, who was the chairman of the occasion said, some people were in the Presidency who allegedly wanted to stop Jegede from contesting the election.
Jegede’s name was removed from the list of contestants of the forthcoming governorship election in the state by the Independent National Electoral Commission and replaced it with Jimoh Ibrahim’s name from the Ali Modu Sheriff’s faction of the party on the order of an Abuja High Court.
Both Makarfi’s faction of the party and the candidate, Jegede, had filed an appeal at the appellate court to challenge the order of the high court.
Mimiko said, “Some people are in the Presidency causing the injustice on us. But I know President Buhari is not part of the injustice.
“I am now a part-time resident of Abuja these days to ensure my people get justice and I know the injustice will not stand.”
Similarly, the factional chairman of the PDP in the state, Mr. Clement Faboyede, has assured members of the party across the state that Jegede would get justice from the Court of Appeal in Abuja.
