Nollywood actor Saga Adeolu has said he would prefer to avoid kissing scenes in movies, describing on-screen kissing as uncomfortable and not something actors actually enjoy. He made the remarks during an episode of the Nolly Icons podcast.
Saga explained that contrary to public perception, actors do not enjoy kissing on set but do it strictly for storytelling purposes. According to him, such scenes are part of script interpretation rather than personal enjoyment.
He further revealed that he has never had a good on-screen kissing experience despite acting in several romantic films, describing the act as “weird” and uncomfortable.
The actor said, “It is weird having people invade your mouth with saliva,” adding that if he had his way, he would avoid kissing scenes entirely. He also recalled a day he had to kiss four different actresses while filming.
Saga Adeolu called for better understanding and appreciation of actors, saying they should be commended rather than judged for performing such roles in movies.
