The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Mai-Martaba Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, has expressed his deep appreciation to the entire people of the state for their overwhelming support which they exhibited during the just concluded eid-el-kabir and grand durbar festival.
He also thanked all security agents for the display of professionalism and being civillain-friendly throughout the festive period especially during the 2023 Ilorin grand durbar ceremony.
The Emir’s spokesman, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona, in a statement issued at the weekend disclosed that the monarch is overwhelmed and appreciative of the peaceful turnout by residents of Ilorin Emirate at the Eid praying ground.
According to him, “His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, wishes to thank the government and good people of the state under the leadership of His Excellency, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq CON the Kwara State Governor and Chairman Nigeria Governors Forum for their commitments and dedications to all the events outlined for the 2023 eid-el-kabir festival.
“I thank Almighty Allah that the three events; worship at Ilorin Central Eid praying ground, annual grand durbar as well as sallah homage (Bareke) on the Kwara State Governor at the Government House went peacefully and hitch-free without any rancour.
“It is only peaceful coexistence that can bring about the desired growth and development in the state. No community can progress when crises and rancour dominate the atmosphere.
“I specially commend our security agents, para-military agencies, Ilorin Emirate Durbar Committee under the leadership of the Danmasani of Ilorin, Engr. Sulyman Yahaya Alapasanpa, tourists, groups and associations and most importantly the entire indigenes of Ilorin Emirate and Kwarans at large for their commitments and resilience throughout the events. May Almighty Allah continue to protect us in order to witness more of such memorable events on earth.”
The Emir therefore prayed Allah to grant all those who have travelled down to the city of Ilorin for the sallah celebrations journey mercies back to their respective destinations.
