Security Operatives Rescue Four Kidnapped Victims Along Igbeti–Kishi Road

Date:

Four passengers abducted along the Igbeti–Kishi Road in Oyo State on Thursday, March 5, 2026, have been rescued unhurt following a coordinated operation by security operatives, the Oyo State Police Command confirmed.

Police said armed hoodlums had blocked a commercial bus travelling from Igbeti to Kishi, forcefully taking four passengers into a nearby forest before security agencies were alerted and mobilised for a rescue operation.

Commissioner of Police Femi Haruna directed divisional officers and tactical teams to launch a joint bush-combing operation with personnel from the police, Amotekun Corps, Operation Burst and other local security stakeholders.

Authorities said sustained pressure from the combined team forced the kidnappers to abandon the victims and flee, adding that the rescued passengers were reunited with their families while efforts continue to track and apprehend the suspects.

The command commended Governor Seyi Makinde and the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, for supporting the operation, and urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to security agencies.
