Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has described his second-term re-election bid as a “divine project and a mass movement” aimed at sustaining the state’s development momentum.
Soludo made the declaration on Tuesday during a campaign rally in Onitsha South Local Government Area, where he and his deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, were received by a large crowd of supporters.
Addressing the gathering, the governor said his candidacy represents a shared vision among the people of Anambra for progress and continuity. “My candidacy is a divine project and a mass movement that resonates deeply with the people and ignites a collective commitment to continued development,” he said.
He expressed gratitude to residents for their support, describing the campaign as one of unity and purpose. “I am humbled and deeply thankful. This is a campaign like no other in our history,” he added.
Soludo highlighted some of his administration’s achievements in Onitsha South and across the state, including the establishment of a specialist hospital in Fegge, the renovation of public schools, and youth empowerment initiatives. He pledged to build on these gains if re-elected.
Community leaders and residents at the rally also voiced their support, commending the governor’s developmental strides. The President-General of Fegge, Okwudili Nwankwo, lauded Soludo’s “One Youth, Two Skills” programme, describing it as a transformative initiative that has empowered young people with practical skills.
Another resident, Chibuike Ugo, applauded the introduction of free education and maternal healthcare services, noting that the policies have brought relief to many families.
Similarly, Franklin Onyeke expressed optimism about Soludo’s chances in the upcoming poll, saying, “We remain steadfast in our belief that he will continue to lead Anambra towards greatness.”
During the event, a cheque donation of ₦20 million was presented in support of Soludo’s re-election campaign.
Soludo, running on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), is contesting the November 8, 2025, governorship election alongside 16 other candidates from various political parties.
