Sunshine Stars head coach Bobby Akinfolarin has turned his attention to the team’s upcoming Nigeria National League (NNL) fixture against Gateway United.
The Owena Waves opened their 2025–26 NNL campaign with a 1–0 loss to Edel FC.
Their next match is scheduled to take place in Akure next weekend, where they will face Gateway United.
Speaking to DAILY POST, Akinfolarin acknowledged the disappointing start but emphasized the importance of moving forward.
“Not the result we wanted against Edel FC, but this is a league; we take it one match at a time,” he said.
He added that the team’s focus is now on preparing for their next home game.
“Our concentration now is our next home match against Gateway,” Akinfolarin noted, stressing the need to approach every game with the right spirit.
The Sunshine Stars aim to bounce back and secure points to strengthen their position early in the season.
