Afrobeats star Davido is facing renewed scrutiny over a paternity dispute with 12-year-old Anuoluwapo Mitchelle and her mother, Ayo Labinjoh. The pair have accused the singer of bullying, threats, and spreading false information regarding DNA tests meant to establish Davido’s paternity.
Anuoluwapo and Labinjoh dispute Davido’s claim that five DNA tests were conducted, insisting only one test took place and alleging it was fraudulent. Labinjoh also criticized Davido for using abusive language and public accusations, stating the situation has negatively affected her daughter’s mental health. “David Adeleke cursed me out, bullied me, and threatened to lock my mother up simply because I want to establish my identity,” Anuoluwapo said in a social media statement.
Labinjoh, rejecting claims that she is Davido’s “baby mama,” said she is acting to protect her daughter and intends to seek international oversight for a credible DNA test. She alleged that previous tests were compromised and described the impact on Anuoluwapo, including fainting at school and undergoing therapy.
The controversy has drawn widespread attention, with Labinjoh emphasizing the need for an independent and transparent verification process. She also called on relevant authorities, including the U.S. State Department, to ensure proper supervision of the DNA testing.
