The Director-General of the Tinubu Support Group (TSG), Dr. Umar Tanko-Yakasai, has urged members of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Ideological Group to intensify grassroots sensitisation on government policies using the group’s newly launched handbook as a guide.
Yakasai made the call on Tuesday while hosting the group during a courtesy visit to his residence in Abuja, where the handbook was officially unveiled. The event drew coordinators from all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, which he described as evidence of the group’s national reach and responsibility.
He commended the group’s convener, Bamidele Atoyebi, for institutionalising President Bola Tinubu’s ideology and stressed that political education and public enlightenment should remain central to the group’s activities.
The TSG Director-General praised the members’ efforts in promoting awareness of government policies at the grassroots level.
Patron of the group, Alhaji Tejumade Suleiman, also lauded the initiative, calling the handbook’s unveiling “a milestone that must translate into real impact at the grassroots.”
Presenting the handbook, Atoyebi described it as a “compass” for advancing Tinubu’s progressive governance ideals. He urged members to move beyond traditional political mobilisation to become technocrats capable of influencing national policy.
He outlined priority campaigns for the group, including local government autonomy, healthcare reforms, the NELFUND student loan scheme, and the ₦45,000 monthly stipend for technical college students under the federal TVET reform.
Atoyebi further disclosed that the group had invested ₦20 million in deploying drones to monitor federal projects, sponsored radio jingles, donated a website to the TSG for coordinating activities, and secured formal registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission.
“The handbook consolidates all our efforts,” he told the coordinators. “I urge you to study it and take it back to your states as a tool for sensitisation, strategy, and community engagement. President Tinubu’s values of public service, inclusiveness, humility, and progressive ideas must remain our guiding principles.”
