Travel agent, Ibukun Adeleye arraigned in court over alleged N1.5m fraud

An acclaimed travel agent, Ibukun Ademola Adeleye of IBKTravels & Educational Consult was on Wednesday arraigned before a Chief Magistrate Court Wuse zone 6, Abuja over alleged Criminal Breach of Trust and  misappropriation of the sum of N1,500,000 given to her  by a client.

According to Police FIR, the offence is contrary to Section 312 and 309 of Penal Code Law.

It stated that:  On the 20/02/2025 at about 1400hrs one Abdulazeez A. “m” of 79, Kwame Nkrumah crescent Asokoro Abuja, came to Garki police station and reported against you Ademola Ibukun “f” of Kuchi-goro village Abuja, that sometime in May, 2024 entrusted the sum of N1,500,000 through your GTB account No 0163434037 to secure Germany visa for one Dauda  Ismail (2) Enoma Dikine Omozubi and Abdulazeez A. but instead you criminally converted the same money and ran away to unknown destination until you were arrested.

When the FIR was read to the defendant, she entered a plea of not guilty.

Following the plea, the court, after hearing both sides, granted her bail in the sum of N750,000 and two surety.

The matter was thereafter adjourned to the 30th of September, 2025 for further proceedings.
