Uganda assures Sudan on peace, stability

Uganda: Yoweri Museveni assures Sudan of peace, stability.

In a renewed friendly deal, President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda, has given the assurance that his country would not be a centre for the launch of hostile acts against Sudan.

Vice President of Sudan, Mr. Hassabu Mohamed Abdul-Rahman, got the cheering assurances when he visited Uganda on Sunday.

Museveni told the visitor that the relations between the two countries should be stronger, SUNA reported.

Both leaders discussed the peace process, outcome of the national dialogue in Sudan and the situation in the Darfur states.

Sudan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Atta Al-Mannan Bakhit said, in a press statement.

He said that the Vice-President also touched the joint committees between the two countries, which were agreed upon in the economic, social, cultural, diplomatic and military fields.

Bakhit pointed out that the Ugandan President affirmed, during the meeting, that his country supports all the efforts exerted by the Sudanese government to achieve security and stability.

Uganda, he said promised to support Sudan and would provide assistance and support to the country.

Bakheet said the relations between Sudan and Uganda would witness a new take-off in all fields.
