Uzo-Uwani Boosts Security With New Police Deployment

Date:

The Chairman of Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area, Chijioke Ezugwu, on Thursday received more than 50 police officers deployed to a newly constructed divisional police base at Camp, Nkpologu, in the Adada Development Area of Enugu State.

Ahead of their arrival, Ezugwu provided essential supplies—including 50 mattresses, chairs, pillows and buckets—to ensure the officers were properly accommodated at the new division.

The deployment follows recent renovation of the facility by the council. The chairman had installed 60 to 70 solar-powered streetlights, constructed access pathways to six blocks, and upgraded the station’s water system to a modern borehole.

With the addition of the new base, Uzo-Uwani now hosts four divisional police stations across its development centres, positioning the council as one of the most secure areas in the state for residents and businesses.

Ezugwu has also carried out extensive clearing and widening of key roads, including the Ozzi-Edem-Nrobo-Ezikolo-Abbi-Nimbo route, the Nkpologu-Uvuru-Ukpata-Adaba-Nkume-Umulopka road, the Obimo-Nkpologu-Ukpabi-Nimbo-Opanda-Adani road, as well as roads leading to Akpugo and Nkpunator communities.
