Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, has approved the appointment of retired Army Colonel Yahaya Gambo as the new coordinator of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF).
In a statement on Tuesday, Secretary to the State Government, Bukar Tijani, said the appointment aims to enhance the CJTF’s operational efficiency, sustain the fight against insurgency, and strengthen peace efforts in the state.
Gambo, from Kaga Local Government Area, is a retired Army officer with extensive experience in safety, security, conflict resolution, and disaster management. He previously served as Chief of Staff at the Intelligence Support Command in Lagos and, since 2018, as Chief Security Officer at Dangote Fertilizer Limited.
According to the statement, the CJTF coordinator will work under the supervision of the Ministry of Information and Internal Security.
