18-year old UNILORIN Student becomes chartered accountant

An 18-year-old undergraduate of the University of Ilorin, Miss Temilola Blossom Arise, has passed all five papers of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) professional stage, earning her status as one of the youngest chartered accountants in the country.

Miss Arise, a 300-level student in the Department of Economics, achieved this professional milestone while actively pursuing her undergraduate degree.

The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, commended her accomplishment, describing it as a testament to the high-quality education and academic support available at the institution.

In a statement issued by the university’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Kunle Akogun, Prof. Egbewole said, “This is a remarkable achievement that reflects the values of hard work, resilience, discipline, and faith. Miss Arise’s success is in line with the legacy of excellence for which the University of Ilorin is known.”

The Vice Chancellor highlighted the significance of balancing professional and academic responsibilities, noting that her ability to excel in both areas demonstrates exceptional focus and perseverance.

Prof. Egbewole expressed hope that Miss Arise’s accomplishment will serve as inspiration to other students at UNILORIN and beyond, encouraging them to pursue their goals with determination and commitment.

He wished her continued success and meaningful contributions in her professional journey.
