The All Progressives Congress (APC) has labeled former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and ex-Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai as threats to Nigeria’s unity and progress, accusing them of attempting to hijack the African Democratic Congress (ADC) constitution.
This was stated by Felix Morka, the APC’s National Publicity Secretary, in response to recent comments by El-Rufai suggesting Nigeria would face danger if President Bola Tinubu secures reelection in 2027.
Morka alleged that Atiku and El-Rufai, along with former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, are engaging in political hypocrisy after their defeat in the 2023 general elections.
According to him, “El-Rufai and Atiku want to do to Nigeria what Atiku did to the PDP.”
He added, “The alliance of El-Rufai, Atiku, and the hijacked ADC poses a clear and present threat to Nigeria’s peace, unity, and development.”
Morka accused the opposition figures of backtracking on their previous reform agendas to criticize President Tinubu for implementing similar policies.
He described their recent actions as politically motivated attempts to destabilize the ruling party’s reform efforts.
