26yrs on throne: Ilorin Emirate has developed tremendously under Emir Sulu-Gambari— Spokesman

The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Mai-Martaba Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, has urged the people of Ilorin Emirate and beyond to continue to live together in harmony in order to promote peaceful co-existence and growth in the society.

This is contained in a goodwill message issued by his Spokesman, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona, in commemoration of the monarchs 26years coronation anniversary as the 11th Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Council of Chiefs.

The statement thanked indigenes and residence of Ilorin Emirate for their loyalty and support for the highly respected traditional ruler in since his enthronement.

He noted that for peace and unity to thrive in the nation, “There is need for absolute commitments of the entire citizenry towards national projects, community-based matters and socio-economic issues. No nation can develop in an atmosphere of rancor and social vices.

“Since Alhaji Sulu-Gambari became the 11th Emir of Ilorin, growth and development have being in abundance through his unwavering supports to successive governments in the state and providing platforms for socioeconomic and human capital development at all levels. Indeed, Ilorin Emirate has developed tremendously under Emir Sulu-Gambari’s 26 years reign on the throne.”

The statement added that, “The Emir had at different occasions promoted inter-religions harmony among adherents of different faiths, championing supports for the less privileged, promoting and preserving the socio-cultural and tradition of the people of Ilorin Emirate and among all, serving as father to all, irrespective of their tribe, religion and political connections.

“As a renown presiding Justice of the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, Alhaji Sulu-Gambari voluntarily retired without any blemish to inherit his forefathers and was formally turbaned as Emir on 11th November 1995. Since then, he has given Ilorin Emirate, Kwara State and Nigeria at large quality representation at different local, national and international conferences respectively.”

While still counting the numerous opportunities that the reign of Alhaji Sulu-Gambari has brought to humanity, the National President of Shehu Alimi Foundation for Peace and Development, Dr. AbdulKadir Oba-Solagberu, prayed Allah to grant the monarch long life on the throne with sound health and God’s guidance.

Dr. Oba-Solagberu who is also the Malami Ubandoma of Ilorin Emirate, urged the people of Ilorin community and Kwarans at large to continue to pray for the Emir and other traditional rulers in the state on order to sustain the peaceful co-existence which stand-out Kwara among other states in Nigeria.
