44th FEPSGA Games Kick Off In Adamawa State

The 44th edition of the Federation of Public Service Games (FEPSGA) officially began in Yola, the capital of Adamawa State, on Thursday.

The event, featuring teams from federal ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) nationwide, was declared open by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri. Deputy Governor Kaletapwa Farauta represented the governor and formally inaugurated the games.

Over 80 federal MDAs participated in the opening march past at Mahmud Ribadu Square, showcasing their teams in a display of national unity and sportsmanship.

Reading the governor’s speech, Farauta said Adamawa State is proud to host the games, which will serve as a platform for promoting friendship and collaboration among public servants.

The Federal Ministry of Works won the parade competition, followed by the Ministry of Education in second place, and the Federal Inland Revenue Service in third.

The games include a variety of field and track events, with competitions taking place at the sports centre of the Federal College of Education, Yola.

The event is expected to run through Tuesday, December 16, 2025, providing several days of athletic contests and team-building activities.

FEPSGA, held annually, aims to promote physical fitness, camaraderie, and teamwork among civil servants across Nigeria.

Participants and organizers expressed optimism that the games would strengthen bonds between MDAs while highlighting Adamawa State’s hospitality and organizational capacity.

The opening ceremony concluded with a cultural display and motivational speeches, setting the stage for the competitive events ahead.
