The match ended in a tense goalless draw, but Kwara United held their nerves to emerge victorious 4–3 on penalties, sending their passionate supporters into rapturous celebrations.
The Federation Cup triumph secured Kwara United a CAF Confederation Cup ticket, marking a return to the continental stage and reigniting football pride in Kwara State.
Despite enduring a challenging league campaign, the Harmony Boys did just enough to survive relegation, finishing 14th on the NPFL26 standings, thereby retaining their topflight status in the Nigeria Premier Football League.
