Former Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Solomon Dalung, has defended the integrity of the African Democratic Congress (ADC)’s interim leadership, stating that unlike some party leaders, there are no video clips of David Mark involved in corruption.
Dalung made the comment during an appearance on Lunchtime Politics, a programme on Channels Television, on Thursday.
He emphasized that the ADC had appointed individuals of high moral standing to lead the opposition coalition, with David Mark as interim National Chairman and Rauf Aregbesola as interim National Secretary.
“There is no video of David Mark stuffing dollars in his pocket,” Dalung said, drawing a contrast with alleged misconduct involving leaders of other political parties.
The former minister also confirmed that Ralph Nwosu, the immediate past ADC chairman, officially handed over the party’s leadership to Mark and Aregbesola.
Dalung served under former President Muhammadu Buhari and has remained active in political discourse since leaving office.
He maintained that the ADC’s new leadership signals a shift towards transparency and accountability in opposition politics.
The remarks come amid broader efforts by the ADC and its allies to present a credible alternative to Nigeria’s dominant political parties ahead of future elections.
