Kano Govt Sponsors NECO Exams for 58 Correctional Inmates

Date:

The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Kano State Command, has announced that 58 inmates are currently participating in the 2025 National Examination Council (NECO) Senior School Certificate Examination.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the Public Relations Officer of the command, Musbahu Kofar-Nasarawa, confirmed that the Kano State Government covered the registration costs for all the participating inmates. He described the initiative as part of broader efforts aimed at rehabilitating and reintegrating inmates into society.

“The NCoS Kano State Command remains committed to providing a conducive environment for the rehabilitation and reformation of inmates,” the statement read.

The development underscores the command’s educational rehabilitation efforts, which aim to equip inmates with academic qualifications that could enhance their prospects after serving their sentences.
